Effects of Diet and Exercise for our Emotional Wellbeing
Diet and exercise have an enormous effect in our lives. What you eat has a direct impact on our mood and feeling not just feeling good but fantastic. When we have too much sugar, carbs, fatty foods or overeat it brings us down. It can cause depression, feel sluggish, have low energy levels, increases stress and brings about alot of negative thoughts and feelings and effects our hormone levels. Alot of the time we are not fuelling our bodies but using food as way of stuffing down our emotion so we don’t have to FEEL(there is a process to release these emotions, contact me if you would like help with this). Along with the added health benefits, vitality, weight loss and feeling fantastic, eating lots of healthy foods including lots of raw vegetables, whole grains, fruit, good oils and having a balanced diet enhances your mood and is crucial to our inner health and wellbeing.
Including regular exercise in our lives also has so many benefits. Just 20 mins a day increases serotonin levels in the brain (feel good hormone) raises energy levels & vitality, decreases stress, anxiety and increases physical strength, clears the mind, relieves insomnia, increases self esteem, confidence and released negativity, just to name a few. It is proven strong body = strong mind. If we are feeling good & taking care of our bodies, loving ourselves, nurturing ourselves we are able to lead not only fulfilling lives but be more productive in every area of your life. If we give to ourselves we are able to give so much more to others. When was the last time you took some time for yourself, to nurture you, to look after you? No time you say, again it is proven that exercise creates more time in your day as you have more energy, clarity, less stress and can move about your day with ease.
Stepping outside into nature, whether it is for a walk, sitting at the beach, sitting under a tree, appreciating our beautiful world, again has such an impact on our mood. It makes you feel connected, grounded, clears the mind and generally promotes wellbeing. Have you ever wondered why children have such a great outlook at life? They exercise, spend alot of time outside, nurture themselves, play and giggle. When was the last time you played, giggled and had fun just being you. Our children are our biggest teachers and we need to take a feather out of their book, love our lives and ourselves.
