5 Steps to Raising Your Self-Esteem

The 5 Steps to Raising Your Self Esteem below are an extremely condensed version of a book I am writing and a workshop I am running on October 23rd “10 Steps to Raising Your Self-Esteem & Confidence”, where you will learn the techniques for these steps below, along with the remaining 5 steps.   1. 1.    Thought Awareness – Being aware of your thoughts and negative self talk is the key to raising your self esteem. How many times a day are you being unkind or unloving to yourself. If you are paying attention to your self talk you are able to change your thoughts patterns. There are techniques to change your thought patterns, by being aware and changing to positive thoughts is the first step.
  2. 2.    Loving Your Self – Loving yourself is such a precious wonderful gift and raises your self-esteem to an all time high. When you use step one ‘Thought Awareness’, step 2 follows. Loving yourself means saying beautiful loving things to yourself everyday, taking time for you, liking who you are and looking after yourself.
  3. 3.    In the Now – Being Present – Our point of power is in the present. Sometimes we can give our power away to our past or future, and this can rob us of experiencing the NOW where all positive energy reside and we can be greeted with love and happiness. Most negative emotions reside in the past or future. Stress is a past emotion of a situation that we have experienced and not released. Anxiety is a fear based emotion – fear of the future. If we are consciously in the present moment there is no stress, anxiety or negative emotions.
  4. 4.    Appreciation & Gratitude – Gratitude and appreciation will significantly raise your self-esteem. Gratitude and appreciation will open your heart, and elevate you from even the darkest of places. In appreciating something or someone, you receive it as well as give to it from your heart. Appreciation and gratitude tune your heart and mind to that which is positive in your life.
  5. 5.    Diet & Exercise – Just as your thoughts and feelings affect the health of your physical body, your physical condition likewise influences your mental and emotional state. When you feel physically healthy, strong and grounded, you also feel more emotionally and mentally balanced and in alignment.
